“The measure of a gentleman is the concern he accords to those who can be of no use to him.”

by Teddy Payne
This little book was prompted by friends who would remark, “Teddy, you’re not exactly a young man anymore, but you always seem to have attractive women around. How do you do it? You should write a book!”
Teddy Payne has led a storied life of adventure, love, war, peace, and the pursuit of personal excellence in his art and his life. Now in his eighties, Teddy’s experiences and reflections on the nature of relationships between men and the women they desire are encapsulated in The Art of Woo. This charming book is more than a gentleman’s guide to winning the affections of women. The Art of Woo reminds us how to give and get respect in a world that is increasingly losing touch with the basic courtesies espoused in days gone by.
“Essential reading for young men coming-of-age or soon-to-be grooms…”
The Art of Woo offers the reader delightful images with instructive, witty text describing how a man might win the affection of the woman he desires. The Art of Woo is essential for young men coming-of-age, soon-to-be grooms and those men – or women – who appreciate a glimpse into the gentility that defined generations. More than that, it is for those who appreciate and wish to instil within themselves a glimmer of the courtesy, respectfulness and manners of those men and women we used to call “gentle”.
